Foil Stamping
It's not just gold and silver anymore.
Foil can be applied as the more common flat stamp, or done in conjunction with embossing or debossing. Even flat foil stamping leaves some minor depression in the sheet, due to the letterpress process involved. That should be kept in mind during design, if there is ink to be considered on the back side of the sheet.
Colors and patterns vary considerably. The opacity of a metallic foil can make it ideal to set something off on a dark sheet. Even black on black can delight the eye.
Our presses are unable to handle foiling or embossing on a product that is already bound, such as a book or 3-ring binder.
